Ryan O` Neal`s son arrested for heroin possession
Redmond O`Neal, the 26-year-old son of the `Love Story` actor and late actress Farrah Fawcett was stopped by police officers after he ran a red light in Santa Monica, California on 02.08.11 and a search of the vehicle revealed the narcotics.
A police spokeswoman told RadarOnline: "At approximately 8.45am a motor officer observed an argument at a store on Lincoln corner of Michigan. O`Neal was one of those involved in the argument.
"The officer then watched as he got into his vehicle. He proceeded to go north bound on Lincoln before turning west bound on Olympic, it was at this time the officer observed him going through the red turn arrow.
"The officer stopped him for the traffic violation. A search of his vehicle was done and narcotics were recovered."
Redmond is currently in police custody although he has not been formally charged and as a result no bail has been set.
This is the latest in a long line of problems for Redmond. He spent time in rehab in 2010 and remains on probation for a 2009 incident in which he brought narcotics onto the grounds of a jail facility.
